Jesus is Very Special to Me
Jesus is very special to me. I know of no one that has done as much for me as He has. "What has He done for you?" you ask.
Jesus Left Heaven for Me. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:1-2, 14). You see, Jesus Christ was in heaven, with the Father and Holy Spirit, and was surrounded by the glories of heaven and all the angels and He gave all that up to come to earth for me. The apostle Paul says it this way, "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men" (Philippians 2:6-7). Jesus left heaven so that I could go to heaven one day.
Jesus Gave Me a Perfect Example to Follow. "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps" (I Peter 2:21). He cared enough for me that He wanted to make sure that I had someone to look up to. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:1-2). Jesus left me an example to follow so that I might be an example to others.
Jesus Died for Me. Because of my sins, I was the one that deserved to die, but Jesus took my place. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6-8).
Jesus Gave Me Great Hope by His Resurrection. I don't have to fear death because Jesus conquered death by His resurrection from the dead. "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection...Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him" (Romans 6:3-5, 8).
Jesus Promises to Save Me. "Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee a crown of life" (Revelation 2:10). What Jesus has done for me, He will do for YOU!
